"LIFE'S JOURNEY IS NOT TO ARRIVE AT THE GRAVE SAFELY IN A WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN SIDEWAYS, TOTALLY WORN OUT, SHOUTING'...HOLY S**T... WHAT A RIDE!"

New Mexico Desert Racing

The NMDRC is an open membership club here in New Mexico. Six to eight races are held each year at different locations around the state. The season ends with an awards banquet to present awards and the five thousand dollar jacket (That is an estimate of what is spent trying to win the jacket) based on points earned through the season.

Now a little about this website. Many years ago, Jeff Hanan started a website for the NMDRC but has since moved away and has not kept up his site. As software has gotten better it has made it possible for a novice like me to make a professional looking website. I decided to produce a website for use by the riders and fans of the NMDRC. The current race schedule can be found at the R&S website. If you want the results you can go to Mike Medwin's M2 site. There will be links to both of those sites as this is not intended to replace either one of them. It is intended to be a place for information to be passed along from one racer to another. There is a message board where people can ask questions, find a good place to ride, set up riding times with other racers, trash talk prior to a race, complain about the track after the race, and tell heroic stories of how good we rode when we were out in the desert where nobody could see us. I would like to do a "Racer of the month" feature to profile a member of the club. I will have space for the individual promoters to post information about their race and update as needed. There is a picture page so  people can send in their favorite pictures to share with the rest of us. Suggestions will always be welcome and I take constructive criticism very well. I always say, "Bad mouth me all you want, just say it with respect." Keith
